The Friends Of The Library
The Friends of the Washburn Public Library do not have monthly meetings or yearly dues, but if you are interested in helping out with a fundraiser, programming or other special projects, the Friends have a job for you!
There is always something going on.
Contact Library Director Darrell Pendergrass or call the library to get your name on the Friends email list/phone tree.
Donate Books, etc.
The Washburn Public Library welcomes donations of books
and other materials, such as DVDs, CDs and music.
Typically, if we don't already have it, or if what we have isn't in good repair, we’ll put it on our shelves.
If we aren’t going to put it on our shelves, we’ll see if other libraries in Bayfield County can use it.
Finally, if it isn’t going to be made available at any libraries, we’ll offer it to the public on one of our ‘free book’ shelves.

Why Give?
You may not even use the library yourself, but we’ll bet you that someone you know does.
Young families and preschoolers gather at the library each week, learning about the importance of reading and learning to interact with one another other.
You may have children or grandchildren who use the library —who come here after school as a warm and safe place to be until its time to go home.
Maybe your friends or family enrich their lives with book club gatherings or other library programs.
Perhaps your grandparents enjoy our extensive large print collection of current and popular titles.

Add To Our Endowment Fund
If you prefer, you can earmark your financial gift to our endowment fund.
In 2005 the Washburn Public Library created an endowment fund from a substantial gift given at that time.
The goal is get the fund to $100,000—money in the bank in the case of an emergency.
As of January, 2018 our endowment fund contains about $65,000.
The hope is that this money will be a safeguard so that a library can and will exist forever in Washburn.
