Sidewalk Pickup Available
Hello everyone -
At their regular meeting on Tuesday, July 7th the Washburn Public Library Board of Trustees voted to NOT open the library doors to the public in July. They will address that question again in August.
At this time we are offering sidewalk pickup Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Saturdays 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Beginning July 18th). Currently you can request and receive items from other libraries through delivery - you can do that online or just call us and we can do it for you - whichever is easier for you.
Wi-Fi upgrades should allow for better service outside the building itself, it's operating 24 hours a day and there isn't a password; just get relatively close to the library itself and your phone or device should work just fine. We are also looking to add outside seating for patrons to use on the library grounds - keep your social distance and feel free to move them around for shade and comfort. And we are working on a process that allows inside services to resume in stages.
It should be noted that there is not a statewide plan for how libraries should open during the pandemic, or when.
All of us here look forward to opening when safety for everyone at the library can be assured. You can go to https://nwls.wislib.org/ or https://www.washburnlibrary.org/ to see what's available. If you have questions or concerns please don't hesitate to call.
Stay safe and thank you for your patience,
Darrell Pendergrass
